Ebay things #7 - American Apparel edition

It's been months since I've posted an 'Ebay Things' post so I thought I would try and post some more, and for a little change I thought I'd do an American Apparel edition. I love the quality of AA items but sometimes you want items a bit cheaper for your budget. I was so happy when I spotted the sunflower print on good ol' Ebay as It's one of my favourite prints along with the Watermelon AA do I just couldn't justify the prices all at once. I found an Ebay seller (linked above) which sells it in the crop top, circle skirt and the high waist shorts, I'm ever so tempted to get the skirt, I love it! I also love the denim circle skirts and this one's a bargain, wish they had the mint back in stock though! I love me some high waisted items recently and bikinis are no exception.

What's your favourite item?

Brighton part two

I forgot to write up this post last week but I thought I would post the second and last part of my trip to Brighton the other week (See part one here)
I really loved shopping in Brighton, there were so many little shops we discovered and yummy food from the diner. Already planning a trip back again for more seafront fun.

The fish on the land // London Aquarium

The other day I surprised my mumma with a trip to London to visit the aquarium. It's one of those places you always say you'll visit but never get around to it so I thought I'd treat her. We arrived nice and early and annoyingly it was empty so it was pretty pointless on myself paying extra for priority tickets. We strolled round to walk around the behind the scenes tour which was really interesting to see. An hour later we walked out to be surrounded in children and buggies, totally forgot about school holidays!
One thing I really loved, mum not so much was walking across the shark tank when you enter which was so amazing watching huge sharks swimming below your feet (posted an instagram of it here) with only a few inches of acrylic separating you it's a little daunting. The tank is actually the main focus as you go round with all different viewing platform windows showing different parts of the tank. I absolutely loved just watching the giant two turtles swimming round, we actually just watched them for ages. They swam right up next to the glass just inches away from your face which was such an amazing experience to see.

We then had lots of fun strolling past the London Eye and all seeing all the street performers. It was such a lovely atmosphere in the sun.

Yummy-ness #1 Herb chicken tortillas

Okay, I'll admit it. When I got home from Brighton I was already craving the herb chicken tortillas we'd had at the diner the first day. They were so good. I never ever eat out at restaurants, it was probably the first time in 4 years but I really enjoyed these and I thought I'd have a go at making them at home.
They were covered in yummy herbs and chargrilled perfectly, so I tried to identify the herbs (oh I sound so nerdy there) for the marinade I chopped up some fresh flat leaf parsley, threw in some oregano, basil (need to replace my plant, boo) and I also thought there was some rosemary but I decided not to add it. Mix all the herbs with oil and salt and pepper then cover your chicken in it. If you feel the urge you can leave it in the mix for a while before cooking but I just cooked it straight away. This would be amazing on the grill for that chargrilled taste but I just used my griddle pan, no extra oil as it already had olive oil in the marinade!
I cooked them 3/4 way through then popped them in the oven to finish cooking so they stayed juicy and yummy. After it came out I left it to rest then cut into generous strips, popped some bbq sauce in the tortilla along with some mushrooms, tomatoes and jalopenos. The tortillas in the diner had also been toasted a bit and chargrilled on the grill again for that oh so yummy chargrilled taste, but in honesty these looked so tasty I just toasted them in the over a little bit.
And voilĂ   super easy, quick yummy meal. The herbs really make these so yummy, and I don't usually use oregano or parsley too much so it was a nice change. I think these definitely satisfy my diner experience craving until my next trip to Brighton. We even had these 2 days later again because they were so yummy.

what i used to make this yummy-ness:
flat leaf parsley,
salt & pepper,
olive oil,
chicken breast,
bbq sauce,
cherry tomatoes,
mission tortillas

Even though I love cooking I don't post any on here, would you like to see more occasional food posts?
Will you have a go at these?

Brighton part one

I have so many photos from my mini trip to Brighton I wasn't sure whether to post them in sections but I thought I'd post a mixture in two parts. I really enjoyed shopping and walking around Brighton we could have easily stayed another few days as we'd just got the bearings of where we were. Even though we planned and saw most things we wanted, there was lots we missed. Luckily our hotel was right on the seafront so afternoon strolls were lovely by the seafront.

Mum and I had lots of vintage antique fun, being my thrift partner it was a day well spent, lovely. We also found an old photo machine which had a fun prop box, so on went the cowboy hat and had some funny photos printed as reminders. We found a tucked away flea market which was a m a z i n g. We happily browsed, gasped, excitedly picked things up and strolled round like children. I even found a Brownie Kodak camera for only £5, I'm yet to try it out but it's an amazing little camera even so, it was made in the late 30's early 40's and even has two viewfinders for horizontal or vertical photo's.  I need to stop buying cameras though, my old camera obsession is getting too much, I came away with 3 from Brighton including... a Polaroid! yayayay, I've been wanting one for so long, just need to buy some film now!

We also found the cutest little shop which was set-up like a 40's utility store selling old household products and was truly like stepping into your nans local shop or store cupboard, we had a lovely little chat with the shopkeeper who was singing along to the music and showing us some original 70's oxo cups which were still in the postage packaging from the 70's!

Of course we took a little trip to Choccywoccydoodah which was only a few minutes from our hotel so we were always tempted walking past it to get back to the hotel. We picked up a few goodies, of course it would be rude not too. We also saw a couple of the chocolatiers we recognised from their show by the shop when we were out super early on our last day.

The next part will be full of more seaside fun, the yummiest of diners and more fun.

Have you popped along to Brighton? What do you like to do while you're there?

I'm loving- My custom phone case Casettagram

$34.95* - Available Here

I'm pretty obsessed with capturing moments and always have been, I used to be one of those who plasters disposable print outs all over their bedroom walls of special days/nights out and favourite photos with friends.
So of course, it was only fitting to have some of my favourite photos on a phone case. I really love my case and when I first got it I couldn't stop staring at all the photos. It's meant to be from photos from your Instagram account (some which are on mine) but since I haven't had my account long to have that many photo's I added some good old favourite photos of mine.

Casettagram is super easy to use and it only took me a little while to fill up my online design case. You upload your photos or connect it to your Instagram account, choose what design you want (they even have a cute 2 half heart for you and another person to have) and just click and drag the photo's to where you want them placed, easy peasy. The delivery was also really good and arrived in a little box, it's a really good quality plastic case also.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially if you love capturing moments and photo's.

Beside the seaside, beside the sea

Top - Primark, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Converse

Do excuse my wind-swept messy appearance in these, we took these on the day we arrived and I think the 2 trains and London underground paired with rain, wind and seafront weather caught up on my hair, oops.
I loved walking on Brighton pier, it was quite busy with kids in the arcades when we went but it added to the atmosphere. It was really nice just sitting watching the sea on the deckchairs, I loved that they're free for use on the pier.  I'm such a nerd for old buildings and architecture. The pier was so pretty, especially where the arcade is with the gorgeous ceiling and stained round windows all along the side.
