How to // long wearing red lipstick

Over time I've discovered the best products I find work best for me and keep that bright red on as long as I require it to. It's been trial and error, like most beauty things! (lets not talk about the time I wore a brand new, really glossy red lip to meet my future boyfriend and his mates, okay) For anyone wanting to hop on the red lips train I thought it would be handy.

First step:
Apply that concealer!

I never used to do this, but I now tend to always do it. I apply a concealer 1-2 shades lighter then my skin tone. Yes, I know I'm pretty much snow white and it's quite impossible to even find a concealer in my own shade, let alone lighter.
B u t... I may have found a concealer to match me, and even lighter (that isn't pure white either) Graftobians ultra lites palette is a little gold star in make-up, cream concealer/foundation form. It's classed as theatre make-up and available online. I picked mine up at IMATS in June last year.
If you so wish, you can apply the concealer all over your lips to create an even coloured base, and to get a true colour of the lipstick, if you have more pigmented lips. I don't feel the need, so instead just by using a flat concealer brush. I apply and blend out around my lips, and set it with a light dusting of powder.

The concealer and powder stops the lipstick bleeding and running. It also can make the lips appear slightly bigger and stand out more, giving a nice clean uniform edge to your lips.

Secondly:
To keep up with the whole 'lets give my lips a nice clean edge' party, I use a lip liner to line all around my lips. I use MUA's in 'red drama' while for £1, I didn't have any complaints at all. Does the job well, and is silky enough to blend, can't go wrong for £1. Lining and blending in towards the lips- so that if, while casually sipping cocktails or just general chitter chatting, it wears off, you won't look a bit odd with a random, harsh line around your lips.

Thirdly:
Lets just go all out and apply the lipstick. I would use a lip brush, especially when a lipstick is used and blunter then when it's new. And just to carry on this precise stuff, but I couldn't find mine, alas I used it straight from the bullet!
For extra wear you can blot, apply a light dusting of powder and layer another coat of lipstick over, this will really add that wear and long lasting power up, small thin layers are better then one overly applied one!

I did a blog post about my favourite and go to red lipsticks here, the Rimmel Kate Moss one does tend to be the only I always go to first, but I do talk about them individually in the post itself!

What I wore #021 // feeling retro

Felt rather retro in this ensemble! I took these the other day before rushing out and forgot to write it up.

Not a good day however, half hour after I took these and changed into my converse, I nearly had a huge car accident, first incident I've had in two years. A hgv violently swerved into my lane on a 70mph road,  fyi I have the tiniest car
e v e r. Not fun. The whole palava caused me to have a massive panic attack when I got to my destination and sunk in what had happened, runny make-up ftw.
Feeling very lucky!

Shirt- Forever 21, Jeans- Topshop, Sunglasses- Primark,
Shoes*-Quiz, Lipstick- Rimmel Kate Moss 01

Also how bloomin' lovely are these heels? I'm absolutely in love with these gorgeous floral platforms. I can also walk in them (always a little bonus to beautiful shoes I think) The day they arrived and I'd gone out, my mum sent me a photo with the caption 'they fit' how cheeky! I love the blue and pink of the flowers, they will go with so many different outfits, especially a lovely little black dress.

Afternoon forest picnic

As of yesterday, my year at college is complete. 11 weeks of summer ahead. So so happy I finally got my head down and stuck at it without letting my health get in the way. I managed to get nearly all distinctions but one in my work *woo*
Yesterday afternoon Jack and I went up to a forest near us and though we'd spend some time up there.

Of course we took a picnic and badminton rackets. It was such a nice sunny day it was lovely to just lay on the grass. It was empty so it was lovely and quiet.
I didn't really take too many photos as I tend to just want to enjoy the moment recently, but I did take a few!
Even got a little bit adventurous and climbed a tree. And by 'climbed a tree' I mean my rugby player boyfriend had to pick me up and prop me up there because I'm way too weak.

Printic review // instagram prints

Anyone who knows me, will know I have an obsession with anything photographic. I'm sentimental and love keeping and preserving memories, especially as printed images. I pretty much have photographs printed out and propped up on probably every surface in my bedroom.

A few companies now do this service but I was left really happy with Printic.
I found Printic super easy to navigate, use and checkout with. It's available on smartphones on Ios and android. All I had to do was download the app for free in the app store and get to work on narrowing down the photos I was to choose.

Printic, being a French company have the the price in euros. It translates to around 65p a print.

After a long trawl through my photos I finally chose and decided on a few special moments to get printed.
You have the option to connect to your Instagram or Facebook to select images, or you can upload these from your camera album. They arrived fast within 5 days from Paris and I excitedly opened the envelope to see them all being kept in a cute little orange envelope stamped with Printic, with all my little photos tucked inside. The prints are really good, clear quality.

I love Polaroid and films and it's a little sad to see film and developing slowly get used less, I do however like the concept of this app, to look like old Polaroid prints. I also really like the simplicity of using the app and checking out so easily. Along with the fact I could enter a family or friends details to send them as a surprise gift in the post.

Printic on the app store / Follow Printic on Twitter

I would definitely recommend and use Printic again. They arrived fast and were a good quality. They also offer free shipping with a minimum order of three prints, and sometimes have discount codes to get a few extra prints.

At 65p, it could turn out a little pricey, but getting photos printed is generally around that price from most high streets now anyway.

The life to-do list #001

At the start of the year I intended to start being more impulsive (it's lasted, honest) If you class going out with friends until 4am driving by the coast, and deciding in your college class you and your three buds will go and get pierced in an hour on our lunch break. I'm pretty happy with how 2014 has treated me so far. I guess this is the type of post I generally write at the end of the year at new years, a reflection over the past year. I did however, want to document my favourite moments as they happen as it's way too much to think of at the end.

I also decided to create an almost 'to-do' list at the end of last year and tick those off by documenting them as gifs. Such as reaching the top of the eiffel tower, climbing the massive tent known as the o2, filming with Ereebs, going to Paris with my buds and all that jazz.

This is part one, and of course I'll be adding other posts as and when they happen. It's nice to reflect on in the future as well!

p.s- I've probably done posts on most of these moments, click the [x] to go view the video/post!
